Casey Rose Wilson (born
October 24,
1980 in
Alexandria, Virginia) is an
American television actress who became a featured member of the
cast of Saturday Night Live (
SNL) in 2008.
Career
Prior to joining
SNL, Wilson was a performer at
Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCBT) in Los Angeles and New York.. At UCBT, her work included the long-running "Rode Hard and Put Away Wet"
sketch comedy segment, written and performed with her writing partner
June Raphael. The segment was also seen on HBO's
US Comedy Arts Festival in
Aspen, Colorado. Wilson and Raphael also worked on the screenplay for
Bride Wars, a film expected to star
Kate Hudson and currently scheduled for a 2009 release.
Wilson was also in the
Bob Odenkirk short subject Derek & Simon: A Bee and a Cigarette and had a small role in the
improvisational film
For Your Consideration.
Wilson joined the cast of
SNL for the show's first new episode after the
2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike; she was the first new cast member in two years. Wilson is now the fourth SNL cast member to be born after the show's premiere in 1975 (
Kenan Thompson,
Bill Hader, and
Andy Samberg were born in 1978; Wilson was born in 1980.)
